Pornography
J.R. was the architect behind XXXchurch.com, producing all public relations efforts and ministry outreach from 2004-2007. J.R.’s experience inside the porn industry has made him an expert on the subject of pornography. J.R. has counseled thousands in the throes of porn addiction, as well as helped industry insiders find lives away from the business of porn. J.R. wrote the “Porn Manual,” a how-to manual for churches to deal with the issues surrounding pornography. J.R. understands that beyond the “sex talk” this generation also needs the “porn talk.” He speaks to churches throughout the world engaging them in a 35-minute presentation on how to wrangle sexual sin and find restoration.

Adoption
J.R. and his wife Diane adopted a sibling group of three in 2007. All three children suffered extreme early childhood abuse, from physical and sexual torment to long periods of neglect. J.R. and his wife are experts on the foster care and adoption process as well as highly skilled in the emotional healing of hurt children. J.R. has designed a program around his story that will move, inspire and educate people on the beautiful and tragic realities of adoption.

Starving Jesus / Book
J.R.’s first book, Starving Jesus is a call to the American church to get off the pew and back into the community. The book spawned a 40-day, 40-city tour that took J.R. and 5 others in an RV from San Francisco to New York City. J.R. fasted the 40 days and chained himself to a pew for the duration of the tour. The trip helped start 20 new ministries and outreaches from feeding the homeless to fixing bikes in improvised city neighborhoods. The tour helped raise $400,000 for Compassion International. J.R.’s Starving Jesus program is a great fit for any congregation or industry looking to inspire people to do more and be more.

Fasting
As of August 2009, J.R. has done two 40-day fasts. Only water and juice for each fast. J.R. believes passionately that Jesus has called all of us to fast. In doing so we build our relationship with God closer and stronger. J.R. has put together a “fasting 101” presentation, answering all the questions about the “what, where, when and why” of fasting.

Marriage
Married 16 years to his wife Diane, the two have been through the gauntlet of faith issues in their marriage. From working as an Executive Producer in the television business to architecting an anti-porn ministry. J.R. and Diane can navigate the marriage waters with the best of them. The two have three adopted kids and run a ministry fulltime. J.R. and Di have put together a program called “Tied” a no-holds- barred look at marriage, kids and the faith that produces success.

Guerrilla Ministry
J.R. coined the term Guerrilla ministry. Mahon answers the questions plaguing every church, ministry or business. “How do we get people in the door and how do we keep them coming back?” Guerrilla ministry is a program J.R. designed to specifically lay out the 10 foundation stones to move people and keep them coming back. From community outreach to internal communications, J.R. covers every base for any organization wanting to create movement.
